Biography of Swamiji and Sri.Kamalakanni Amman Temple-Kalavai

 

SWAMI  SACHITHANANDA OF KALAVAI

                  India is a land of many mystics and saints. Time       and eon again great saints had appeared in order to resurrect people from the path of evils and to make tread the path of purity. Thus our holy land has galaxy of holymen. Many of them turned to be in coronation of God himself. In such a holy line of order, here is a Swamiji in Kalavai, near Arcot in Ranipet District in Tamil Nadu, South India.  

            Kalavai is surrounded by greenish lands, picturesque scenes and also by Temples. Among other temples in this holy town, the Temple for Goddess Kamalakkanni  is just ½  km from the bus stand and has become very popular in recent years. The reason for the popularity is not only the Goddess Kamalakkanni , but also the presence of great saint “Thavathiru Sachithananda” who had been mainly responsible for the establishment of ardent devotees and rapid development of this temple.

         ‘ Swami Sachithanada ‘ with devotees of all over India spreads the preachings of Vadalur Vallalar Swamigal and Swamy Vivekanandha as his meaasges to the world. He is on  “Mouna Virdham”(Observing Silence)for the last 40 years. He shows keen interest in performing poor feeding (Annadhanam) to those who afflicted with bad evils and those who affected due to mental agony and  mental aliments come and stay at this Shrine with fanatic faith of getting their diseases cured.The divine grace of Goddess Kamalakanni and the blessings of Swamiji , make them all cured of their affliction.

            Swami Sachithananda was born in a small village named Angarankuppam in the North Arcot Ambedkar District (then).His father’s name was Srinivasan and mother's name was Pappathi Ammayar. During his childhood, he always preferred to be alone, not mingling with other children of his age. He used to go round the green fields, gardens, water-beds and enjoying the nature’s serenic beauty and drowned in deep thought. No one did ever understand what his search was for and why it was so.

          He was brilliant in his studies, but abruptly discontinued his studies at the age of 20 and left his home, parents , relatives and akins and started his Holy journey of search towards North without a penny.

         During his journeys Swamiji used to stay wherever he was like plain or forest without any reservation. He practiced meditation even in the midst of the thick forest, unmindful of the wild animals or about the surroundings or even the climate. Nothing rain or shine, hot or cold did deter him from his meditation.

         On the day of eve when Swamiji was practicing meditation an unknown person appeared to be a great Saint touched him very gently. Immediately Swamiji felt that some spiritual current passed through his body. From that moment he felt a difference in him and realized that a divine power had graced on him.

         Swamiji practiced “NIRVIKALPA” dhyanam at Moonar(TN) forest for about 27days without food and sleep.He had met many Saints and Mahans and discussed with them various spiritual issues.

  

On his way back to South the the former Prime Minister Mrs.Indra Gandhi met Swamiji at Chighmangalur in Karnataka state and discussed various spiritual and religious issues. After visiting various places in the South, he reached ‘Kalavai’ and had been staying here from 1978 to till date. With the divine powers acquired, Swamiji performed many miracles as witnessed by his devotees during the last many years. One day at Kalavai ,he produced one ‘Pancha Logha’ idol from the air and gave it to Sri.R.D.K.Ex-Musiff of Kalavai. The divine idol is kept at the Pooja room in the house of Sri.R.D.K. and worshipped even today.

          On another occasion, out of mounting pressures from his devotees he asked them to lock him in a room. Surprisingly with divine powers he came out without the knowledge of devotees assembled there, went  Vellore  to the premises of one of his devotees and at the same time he visited another devotee at ‘Virunchipuram’ near Vellore. After sometime he returned back to his room through the main gate of the temple. All those standing near the room were thrilled by this miracle.

           There is another incident .One of the disciples of Swamiji, an officer in a company at Ranipet was admitted in hospital due to heart ailments. The doctor’s team who attended him decided that an emergency operation should be done within 24 hours. When the devotee was informed of this, he became restless and could not sleep that night. He was very much worried about the operation and mentally tensed. He closed his eyes and prayed Swamiji for a few minutes for his recovery. Within seconds the Swamiji’s stature appeared before him. Swamiji touched the devotee very gently and told him not to be afraid of the operation. He asked the devotee to go back home and be happy with his family members.

              A devotee who was in a fainted mood replied to Swamiji that he could not leave the Hospital since the date and time had already been fixed for his heart surgery. Swamiji smiled and told that date and time had been fixed only by the humans and not by the Goddess. He then hinted to the devotee had already been cured of the heart problem with the grace of the Goddess. He then disappeared. The devotee woke-up and thrilled by this experience.

           The next day the medical team after making preliminary arrangements for surgery came to the patient. They were surprised that there was no sign of any problem in his heart, warranting surgical treatments. They could not believe how above the miracle was possible over a night. On the advice of the doctor’s team the devotee left the hospital and reached home. By taking routine treatment he became hale and healthy.

           These are only a few incidents. A separate volume has to be brought if all the miracles performed by Swamiji are to be narrated.

            A famous Tamil Saint Thirumoolar who descended from the Holy Kailash to our land for the salvation of mankind is the author of  several religious books.In one of his poem describes God as follows;

   “He knows our Thoughts. When we pray to Him with unstinted faith in Him, He raised beautifully in ourselves. When we hold His lotus feet with intention of getting salvation, He grants the same. He blesses his devotees day and night and all –through. If we make one step towards Him, He makes Ten Steps towards us”

        The above saying proved to be real one and hold good on numerous occasions as far as the Swamiji’s ardent devotees are concerned.
